Indian tennis player Sania Mirza will be participating in the Ladies Invitational Doubles event at Wimbledon 2023, which begins on July 3rd. This will be her first Grand Slam appearance since the Australian Open earlier this year. Her most recent match was at the Dubai Tennis Championships, where she played alongside Madison Keys.

In the Ladies Invitational Doubles event, Mirza will be partnering with Britain’s Johanna Konta. They have been placed in Group B, along with other renowned players such as Kim Clijsters, Martina Hingis, Francesca Schiavone, and Roberta Vinci. The event’s other group includes Cara Black, Caroline Wozniacki, who recently announced her comeback from retirement, Daniela Hantuchova, Laura Robson, Li Na, and Agnieszka Radwanska.

India’s representation at Wimbledon will be limited to Rohan Bopanna, who will be participating in the men’s doubles event alongside Matthew Ebden. In their first-round match, they will face Guillermo Duran and Tomas Martin Etcheverry.

Bopanna, who plans to retire from Davis Cup at the end of the year and focus on ATP events as long as his body allows, will be competing in his 13th Wimbledon tournament. On the other hand, Ankita Raina, another Indian player, participated in the qualifying competition at Wimbledon but unfortunately exited in the first round after losing to Spain’s Bouzas Maneiro in a three-set match.
